She wrinkled her nose and laughed the tiniest giggle anyone had ever heard - had anyone been around to hear it. Anyone on two legs, that is. Her new, hairy companion barked in agreement and then knocked her over, nuzzling her with his cold, wet snout, and licking her face.
As she crashed down into the bed next to him, he knew that this was the right time. He squeezed his eyes tight, knowing what had to be done - had to be said. He didn’t like what would happen next, but that didn’t change that it was what had to happen.
